I was given this outfit by Gymshark, and I am honestly so glad to try it out. I’m a fitness instructor, personal trainer avid gym go-er, and squats are my middle name. So I’m always in search for a good pair of workout leggings. Oh, and a cute gym top is cool too.
The concern I have with workout leggings is that: It always seems to slide down. Because my hip to waist ratio is literally not fit for normal clothes out there, leggings always sit perfectly on my hips but are incredibly loose around my waist. And this sort of causes my leggings to slip, and oops. Butt crack. Not good. And also this gets super uncomfortable especially when you keep having to pull up your pants constantly during your sets. Hey, I only got 1 minute rest between sets so I ain’t got no time to be pulling up my leggings. And that wastes 5 precious seconds of resting. So, no way josé.
The Greek island of Santorini is known for its tranquil vibes and breathtaking views. Not only that, it’s a well-known honeymoon destination. But who could blame it? It’s like wanderlust, stepping into an exotic destination with scenic views and unique architecture that make you want to take all your belongings and call it your new home. Everything in Santorini is themed, it’s like Instagram coming to life. The colour scheme is magnificent: white, blue and turquoise. And all the buildings depict these colours. This makes it an outstanding place for photo taking, but also makes for an amazing and unforgettable view. Santorini is not one you can just see in pictures, but one you have to experience. I got to share this wonderful trip with my sister, and I wouldn’t trade it for any other! We had the best time ever. If you are fantasising about a trip to Santorini or planning to go, here’s a list of my favourite experiences throughout my trip, and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did!
It’s spring time, finally! The weather is definitely starting to warm warming up, and shades are out. Spring is my favourite season. Firstly, it’s the season of my birthday (yay!) and secondly, it’s that transition from cold to warm that I really like. Flowers start to bloom, the sun comes out and everything just seems to become alive again. It’s like nature’s metamorphosis. I find that very beautiful. Everything is also very colourful and fun! I like that too. So, firstly, I have to talk to you guys about my new obsession: Matcha green tea lattes. This matcha tea latte recipe is made with matcha tea powder and is super delicious and packed with antioxidants. Not to mention also dairy-free!
Ok so a week has passed. I know, I’m really bad at being consistent with posting. Sorry! Procrastination has gotten the better of me! But.. I come with you, today, a GREAT recipe. Healthy raw vanilla raspberry cheesecake slices. These slices are so sweet, creamy and tangy. I love raspberry cheesecake. Ok, so as you know, I am a crazy sweet tooth. I can’t not eat something sweet everyday. And with my crazy cravings, I’ve GOT to find something healthy as a substitute. Or else I’ll eat a whole pack of brownies. And a Ben & Jerry’s. Or both at once. (this has happened many times, I can assure you!)
You know when you’ve just eaten, and you still feel hungry? Yup, that’s me right now.
I’m feeling like I could easily eat a burger, fries, a milkshake and maybe some extra nachos along with that. I’ve spent the weekend eating and EATING. Lots. And I am incredibly stuffed. But I still feel I can eat more. There is always room for more food, as they say. Or as I say?
I hung out with my sister this weekend, and we ate Turkish food. I think we can safely say that Iskender is one of the best dishes IN THE WORLD.
I can’t even describe the taste of it. It is rich, creamy, buttery and so good. There’s a layer of meat on top of bread, soaked in a tomato herb sauce. I mean, I am speechless. How could something taste so good? I just love finding great food. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
It’s time for cookie dough protein balls! Exams are done. And it’s time for a little treat. Finally. If you guys follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I love my desserts. So I always try to make healthy versions of my favourite treats. I have more assignments and essays due in the next few weeks, but I feel I can finally take a breath right now. Or two, before the work piles up again. Oh, the fun of being a university student. I mean, sometimes I do enjoy it. I love the freedom I have, and the ability to do anything I want to. I can travel, make new friends, try new things…
Hope you guys are enjoying your Sunday! Sundays are lazy days for me. I usually just lay down in bed all day contemplating how much stuff needs to be done in the next few days. I do journalism at university, which means I have assignments that include finding random people to talk to. So that’s quite challenging when I live in another country (I’m in England), and only know my sister, course mates, and a few personal trainers that I talk to when I’m at the gym. Haha. But I will find a way! If there’s a will… there’s food. And then you eat the food, and feel happy, and then do your stuff. I think that is literally my life motto right now. I decided to become really serious with counting my macros. No, no.. I’m not going to become a bodybuilder (sorry guys). I’m just going to Greece (UM, YAYY!) this spring so I have to cut.. and that requires being quite consistent with my protein, carbs and fat intake. As I am typing this, I just almost forgot I have an exam tomorrow. How did I just remember this? Oh, it’s because I was obsessing over this awesome chia seed pudding. 😉
It’s the weekend!
Finally! I felt this weekend took too long to come. WAY too long. Maybe it’s because I’m at university all day. Or maybe it’s because I’m longing for the weekend way too much. Or maybe it’s a little bit of both. Maybe it’s because I’m swamped with uni work that a little break is all I really want right now. And some coffee. Always coffee. Though strangely enough, I have not been craving coffee that much. I’ve been trying to whiten my teeth for the past few weeks so I’ve had to limit my coffee intake. Like they say, a brighter smile, a brighter life? I don’t think they say that. But hey, let’s go with it!
If you guys follow me on Instagram, you know I love anything high in protein. So this recipe is a perfect high protein sweet treat. But before I start on this super quick, tasty, and super easy recipe, I’d just like to say, happy Tuesday! Ok, I know Tuesday not an ultimate happy day. We’re mid-week, and an everything’s -a-mess-and-i-have-to-get-my-life-together-by-the-end-of-the-week sorta day, but you know what. Let’s choose to be happy! Hug a friend, tell someone they’re beautiful, smile at a stranger, share your food with your friends, because you know what, we’re all going through life and we’re going through it together. So why not make it all the more pleasing for the next person beside you? After all, it will make you feel better and make the other person feel better too! You want to know what else will make you feel better? These tasty peanut butter protein balls.
Peanut Butter! And chocolate. Another irresistible combination. These brownies had to be made. Gooey, fudgy, chocolatey, chewy, I can go on but yes these brownies are the bomb. And they’re totally good for you! I wanted to make plain old brownies but I thought, why not add some peanut butter in them? After all, peanut butter and chocolate together taste incredible. Think Reese’s peanut butter cups… But in brownie form. Super yum. These were really quick to make too. I left them in the oven for 15 minutes and they were done! Also, they are so fudgy.
